"To create this series, we had to go and meet all these women. We drove all over New York City in two days in a snowstorm in the middle of February... let's just say it was quite a challenge! We went from Queens to Chinatown, from Tribeca to Clinton Hill. It was a project I had been wanting to do for a while, I took the time to choose each woman for what they inspired me and what they brought to NY."

From Felukah, an Egyptian rapper photographed in Chinatown, to Rana Abdelhamid, a community organizer in Queens that offers self-defense classes, to Laila Gohar, a food artist in Tribeca, this project highlights their uniqueness, their work, and what it brings to the city.
